So you have probably checked our Lively Clinic photos by now and see that indeed, the ground has been ceremoniously broken and the fun begins. Our dynamic duo Marilyn and Roberta proudly dig in with the golden shovels just in front of where the new canopied entrance will be ready to welcome all of our Lively patients in the new year. Here starts the beginning of the many changes we will see in the near future. If the leaves would just stay green for a bit longer but they are turning red, orange, yellow, burgundy before our eyes. Construction, like life, is anything but static. Constantly changing and evolving until the end product stands before us better than we ever envisioned. I have waited a long time for this phase in the life of the Sudbury District Nurse Practitioner Clinics. CONSTRUCTION! I love the stuff. To me, the green light on this project was almost as exciting as my daughter being presented “Contractor of the Year” award in Sr. Kindergarten for her enthusiastic work at the Lincoln Logs Station. During my first site visit, someone apologized to me for the dust. You have to be kidding…if I don’t have to clean it, I really don’t have a problem with it. It means work is happening and we are progressing! So let the work begin, changes and all. This project, like the face of healthcare is constantly changing to meet the needs of the people it serves. Always looking for a better way to do things. Someone mentioned something about picking paint colours soon. Today I was thinking a nice, calm shade of pink for the exterior…but then again, I am sure that too will change. Sharon Vukoja, SDNPC Office Manager |
